Andrew Samson – appreciation
Andrew Samson
For the astute follower of TSL, you would have realised Andrew has the same surname as the TSL directors. It is nepotism at work – pretty much all publishing, as with other things, is about who you know. We don’t hide that fact. However, such books go through the same process as all our others.
Andrew is a cricket statistician. He set a challenge to write a cricket diary for a year – 2015 – and The Moon is Toast is it.
Other publishers had shown an interest but wanted it written in prose, not diary form. That was not the book Andrew envisaged and he continued to look around. Hearing of his struggles, and the scenario fitting the TSL ethos, The Moon is Toast found a home.
This is more than a book about cricket statistics, there are insights, humour, travel snippets, and baseball! As a break from cricket, Andrew enjoys baseball. If you’ve heard Andrew on radio or seen his quirky statistic tweets (both in the past now), you’ll quickly identify his style in The Moon is Toast.
