Nee Nee Moo – A time traveller by Jaquie Feldman

The germ of this story was unbelievably conceived 25 years ago! When my children were tiny we entertained ourselves with tales of the little creature, only their imaginations grew with each Moo character they invented, until eventually we found ourselves inundated with illustrated ‘Moos’! Our designs became T-shirts, cushions, glass paintings, even thaumatropes revealing happy/sad spinning faces.
Then they grew up, and the rough manuscript sat under my bed for all those years, until a pandemic allowed me to return to our little project, revising and illustrating just a few of our characters. Reflecting and re-evaluating the tale in those bleak times made it appear all the more poignant, for surely any comfort or companionship, however brief is to be cherished!

Jaquie, originally from Essex studied Fine Art at Winchester School of Art where she was the recipient of the Hampshire County Council’s travel award.
Presently she’s a member of the Pinner Sketch Club and tutors mixed media art groups in Harrow. She also freelances as an art facilitator and lecturer for the British Museum, National Portrait Gallery, Sir John Soane’s Museum, Keats House, Royal Museums Greenwich and UCL (Petrie and Grant museums).
She loves birds, and in her spare time obsesses over pigeons.
