Short Story Preview: Dare you to!
‘How could you think of doing such a thing?’
Mum stood there, arms akimbo, still wearing her apron and house slippers. She glared at me and her face was more ferocious than I’d ever seen it. I saw a vein standing out on her temple and her eyes were open so wide you could see the whites of them all round the brown part. Her eyes seemed set to come right out of her face.
I looked down at the floor between my knees. The cut grass was all over my trousers and it had stained my trainers the yellow-green colour of sick.
‘I’m speaking to you!’ she screamed, ‘Do you realise what you’ve done?’
