The Northwood VAD Hospital is the only known hospital to have been set up in a church – St John’s Presbyterian (now United Reformed) in Northwood, Middlesex, England. The history of the Northwood Voluntary Aid Detachment (VAD) Hospital in the First World War. Includes what is known of staff (Middlesex X VAD; Middlesex V VAD) and patients (convalescent rank and file) and others (volunteers, entertainers) who worked in and contributed to the success of the hospital. Please note that this book is sold at cost with no profits accruing to any person or organisation.
A donation of 20p is made to St John Ambulance for every book sold. St John Ambulance provided the nurses who served in the hospital.
